Hosted by entertainment and music icon Snoop Dogg, The Player’s Ball, the long-running popular annual birthday bash for hip-hop artist and actor Bishop Don Magic Juan, returns to Hollywood this year with a special mission of compassion as Snoop Dogg and celebrity musicians, athletes and entertainers will lead fundraising to help cover medical costs of the Bishop Don Magic Juan’s recent hospitalization, SP Entertainment, sponsor of the event, announced today.
Celebrating its 34th year, with a well-earned reputation as one of the year’s most extravagant annual entertainment events, The Players Ball 2011 will feature an outstanding program of live music and entertainment on Saturday, December 17. The event,which will be held at a venue to be announced soon, is open to the public and tickets are available from PayPal through the event website at http://www.playersball.com. Doors open at 8 pm.
Hip hop artist, actor, fashion designer, Bishop Don Magic Juan is a popular culture legend who released a collection of classic soul recordings Green is for the Money, Gold is for the Honeys in 2006 and has appeared in dozens of music videos, live shows, movies and television programs. He also appeared in the Hughes Brothers-directed documentary “American Pimp.”
In addition to a DJ dance set performed by Snoop Dogg, the event will feature an encore headline performance by talented rapper Too $hort who starred at the 2010 event and “Still Blowin’” release earned extensive critical acclaim and a spot on the 2010 Billboard charts. The Player’s Ball 2011 will also feature Bishop Don Magic Juan’s presentations of Player of the Year awards to top athletes and entertainers.

The 2010 Players Ball marked the first time in the 33-year history of the party that it was held in Hollywood. An immediate sell-out, the party was highlighted by Snoop Dogg’s debut DJ performance and the presentation of the much sought-after “Player of the Year Award.” Presented by Bishop Don Magic Juan, the Award recognizes the individual who best embodied the Player lifestyle during the past year.
